COURSE DESCRIPTION
Storage Networking Concepts
Foundation provides an introduction to storage networking concepts, technologies and solutions. Attendees will explore fundamental storage concepts, disk technology, storage architectures, storage management and storage networking protocols such as SCSI, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, FCIP and iFCP. Key solutions will be presented, which addresses data sharing, Networked Attached Storage (NAS), disaster recovery preparation, extended SANs, business continuity, backup and recovery, and storage consolidation. After completing this course, attendees will be well-prepared to attend more advanced courses on storage networking solutions and implementation, as well as courses which address specific technologies.
Prepares delegates for SNIA Foundations Exam (S10-101).
PREREQUISITES
There are no formal prerequisites; however participants will gain the most from this if they have a fundamental knowledge of:
- Traditional or networked storage technologies
- LAN/WAN solutions
